A Week of Summer Break?!

Because of the way my program is set up we only have about a week of break between the spring and summer semester but we should get about a month at the end of the semester before we have to head back for our last and final semster (Fall '08). I spent my week between two separate places in South Carolina (Landrum and Boiling Springs).

• May 2, 2008 -- Nicholas came up and helped me move my stuff from the dorm that I am moving out of and to my grandparents. We were supposed to meet up with Dawn and Russell but we ended up going to Mary Black ER because Nicholas was coughing like crazy. He had allergies...RIGHT!

• May 3, 2008 -- Went to Dawn and Russell's in Landrum, SC. They were having a yard sale so we took Isaac and went to Greenville Zoo and had fun with him. That night we got to go with Dawn and Russell and their families to the BMW Zentrum Center for Russell's graduation from the Rookie Firefighter Academy. We had fun. So proud of Russell.

• May 4, 2008 -- Spent the day in Landrum. Dawn had a cookout for Russell. There were alot of people. Took Nicholas home so he could go to work the next day. Stopped at Strawberry Hill in Chesnee, SC to get some fresh strawberries. YUMMY!

• May 5, 2008 -- Got to sleep in and hung out with Russell and Isaac. We rode to Inman to the bank and had luch at Taco Bell and then went home and watched a movie (The Golden Compass). Went to Nicholas' that evening and he changed my oil in the car and rotated the tires for me.

• May 6, 2008 -- Slept in while everyone went to work. When Nicholas got home we went to the grocery store and got food for the week. We went home and cooked dinner. After dinner we went for a bike ride.
  

• May 7, 2008 -- Got up early and made strawberry muffins and then worked on a Chicken and Shrimp Paella for dinner. Made dinner early because when Nicholas got off of work we went to a rifle range that was free on Wednesday's and open to handguns. I got to shoot a .22 Ruger Mark 3.
  

• May 8, 2008 -- Got up early(4:00 am) and made breakfast (Breakfast Tacos). I took him to work because I needed my car. Got highlights later that morning. Went to the outlet mall at Gaffney while I was waiting to pick up Nicholas. Went for a bike ride (8 miles)!
  

• May 9, 2008 -- Slept in. Went to the Spartanburg Library to do my web assignment for class on Monday. Worked on my quilt. Out to eat for dinner with Nicholas at Papa's Breakfast Nook in downtown Spartanburg. Ran some errands and got ice cream at Bruster's.. Rented some movies and back to the house. We didn't even make it through one movie.

• May 10, 2008 -- Got up and made breakfast and ate with Nicholas, his dad (Marvin), and his stepmom (Gwen). Watched movies (American Gangster and Cloverfield). Showered and went and met Nicholas' mom (and her boyfriend) for the first time. We took her out to eat at Texas Roadhouse. Then we went to Frankie's Fun Park in Greenville and played putt-putt, rode go-karts, and played in the batting cages. We had a lot of fun and a late night.

• May 11, 2008 -- Had breakfast with Nicholas and his dad and then headed to grandmother's to get my stuff. Moved into Davis apartments on campus.

I know it seems like I was super busy but I wasn't and it was so nice. Thanks to everyone who helped me have a relaxing summer break...even if it was only one week.
